Sister Harriet Spiritual Collective
Sister Harriet is a sacred offering of ZAMI NOBLA—a spiritual collective designed to honor, support, and center the lives and experiences of Black lesbians aged 40 and older. Rooted in radical inclusion, community care, and spiritual liberation, Sister Harriet provides a weekly in-person gathering space where members can connect deeply, reflect honestly, and nourish their spirits in community with one another.
Named in honor of the revolutionary spirit of Harriet Tubman, Sister Harriet holds space for those who walk the path of faith, doubt, resistance, and joy. Whether you identify as a heretic, holy roller, heathen, mystic, seeker—or none of the above—you are welcome here.
Led by Angela Denise Davis, ZAMI NOBLA’s Creative Director, the collective meets every Sunday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at The Biggers House. Each gathering includes music, meditation, collective reflection, and storytelling. The focus is not on doctrine or dogma, but on spiritual inquiry, emotional healing, and shared wisdom that reflects the lived realities of Black lesbians navigating aging, identity, grief, joy, and everything in between.
Through song, silence, and testimony, Sister Harriet creates a container for spiritual resistance and rest—where members are seen, held, and affirmed in all of who they are. Whether you come weekly or drop in when your spirit leads you, you are a vital part of this beloved circle.
We believe that spirituality is not a luxury—it’s a right. A right to wholeness. A right to be held. A right to be free.
